I ran the communications for TheALUMS, the first ever corporate alumni conference and awards
ceremony, for two years from launch. That covered building the website, running the email
campaign, managing social media for nominations and ticket sales, writing the speakers booklet,
and putting together the conference agenda.
Both years saw strong attendance and
excellent feedback from attendees. The event has continued to grow since, now running as an
annual two day conference in New York City with speakers from companies like PwC, IBM,
BlackRock, and Genentech.
How I worked:
Social
campaign: Built up hype and FOMO with a weekly posting rhythm, sharing nominees as
they came in and revealing new speakers and announcements over time instead of all at once, so
there was always something new to look forward to.
Email campaign:
Wrote and sent the email series driving nominations and ticket sales alongside the social
push.
Speakers booklet: Wrote the speakers booklet, profiling each
speaker for attendees ahead of the event.
Website: Built out the
conference pages within the main EnterpriseAlumni site, covering the agenda, speaker
announcements, and ticket sales.
